Special Events


Toad Suck Daze, the largest free-admission family festival in the state and one of the most anticipated event in Conway, starts the first weekend in May for three days and attracts more than 160,000 people to downtown Conway.

Faulkner County Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale takes place in May and is one of the largest Master Gardener plant sales in the state. Thousands of plants are available for sale, including native species, annuals, perennials, vegetables, shrubs, trees, herbs, and shade plants. Master Gardeners also give lectures and answer questions at the event.


Auction Extravaganza is an annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Faulkner County. Live music, a silent and live auction, and delicious hors d’oeuvres make up this event which happens in July. Proceeds support a variety of activities for the club, including its educational programs, and life skills programs.

First Security Conway Kids’ Triathlon , one of the nation’s premier youth triathlons, is conducted by the Conway Running Club and takes place in August of each year. Approximately 400 kids ages 6-15 swim, bike, and run while building healthy habits and self-confidence. All funds in excess of actual event expenses benefit a local charity.


ArtsFest is sponsored by Conway Alliance for the Arts (CAFTA) and takes place over a 10-day span in September and October of each year. The event includes a number of activities geared toward art lovers of all ages, including performances by Conway Symphony Orchestra and other musical groups, interactive exhibits, a film festival, literary readings, and book signings.

Dazzle Daze is the annual fundraiser for the Conway Regional Women’s Council. This November event is a three-day shopping extravaganza at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. More than 90 merchants from all around the country offer antiques, gourmet foods, home and holiday items, jewelry, children’s toys and books, clothing, and collectibles.

EcoFest is a highly interactive and educational community event designed to explore way to experience and enjoy nature while learning how to practice good stewardship of the environment. Activities include the Conway Cardboard Car Derby, a kite show, a butterfly release, geocaching, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, and interactive exhibits set up by local organizations.

Festival of Chairs is the annual fundraiser for the Children’s Advocacy Alliance of North Central Arkansas. At the event, which takes place in October, beautifully re-purposed chairs go up for auction along with hundreds of other artistic and unique items. The chairs symbolize the children and families the Children’s Advocacy Alliance serves every day.

The Faulkner County Fair and Parade happens in September of each year at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds. The week-long event includes a livestock sale, live entertainment, carnival rides, and , of course, traditional fair food.

Taste of Conway, organized by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, takes place in October at the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds as part of the Chamber’s Business Expo. Local restaurants and eateries set up booths and serve their best food offerings. Attendees have an opportunity to sample a wide variety of cuisine under one roof.


Downtown Conway hosts a number of events to celebrate the holiday season.

Christmas Open House takes place in November and is organized by the Conway Downtown Partnership. Each year, downtown merchants open their doors on Sunday afternoon to give loyal customers a jump-start on the holiday shopping season.

The lighting of the Conway community Christmas tree – the largest artificial tree in the state – happens in late November.

The City’s annual Christmas Parade takes place in mid-December and benefits the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Faulkner County.
